Scouts work on Rank Advancements and Merit Badges with the Troop at weekly meetings and campouts, as well as on their own time.
A Troop Court of Honor (COH), a formal ceremony for Scouts, families, and guests is where the Troop members are recognized for their achievements. All Scouts who have advanced in rank or earned merit badges since the last COH, are recognized.
Boy Scouts rank advancement is a structured system where Scouts sequentially earn seven ranks. The program is self-paced, with Scouts focusing on basic skills and leadership to progress, culminating in the prestigious Eagle Scout rank. Advancement involves earning badges, completing community service, holding positions of responsibility, and passing Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review.
Scout - Earned shortly after joining, this rank demonstrates a basic understanding of the Scouting ideals and program.
Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class - These ranks focus on developing fundamental Scoutcraft skills, teamwork, and self-reliance.
Star, Life, Eagle - These ranks require a greater commitment, including earning numerous merit badges, serving in positions of responsibility within the troop, and completing additional time-based requirements.
Learning and earning Merit Badges is key to Scouting. The list of diverse subjects offers Scouts a wide range of choices.
